In order to effectively remove moisture and impurities from aviation fuel, the cassette minipleat filter is usually installed in the aviation fuel supply system, and the coalescer is one of the core components among them. The cassette minipleat filter is capable of continuously processing fuel during the oil transportation process. It integrates the functions of filtering impurities and dehydration to ensure the cleanliness of the fuel.

Inside the cassette minipleat filter, there are two sets of filter elements with different functions, namely the coalescing filter element and the separation filter element. When the fuel flows through the cassette minipleat filter, it undergoes four key processes:

1. Filtration: The fuel first passes through a primary coalescing filter element to remove solid impurities.

2. Coalescence: Tiny water droplets coalesce into larger water droplets within the coalescing layer.

3. Sedimentation: Large water droplets settle to the bottom of the filter due to the force of gravity.

4. Separation: The fuel passes through the secondary separation filter element again. The unsettled water droplets are completely separated by the water-repellent effect of the separation filter element and eventually settle in the water collection trough, and are discharged through the drain valve.

After this series of treatments, impurities and moisture in the fuel are effectively removed, and finally clean jet fuel is obtained for aircraft use.
